|
وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلاً أَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
|

|
|
|
আর এক জনপদের অধিবাসীদের উপমা তাদের কাছে বর্ণনা কর, যখন তাদের কাছে রাসূলগণ এসেছিল।
|
|
|
|
And put forward to them a similitude; the (story of the) dwellers of the town, [It is said that the town was Antioch (Antakiya)], when there came Messengers to them.
|
|
|
|
وَٱضْرِبْ
এবং বর্ণনা করো
And set forth
لَهُم
তাদের কাছে
to them
مَّثَلًا
দৃষ্টান্ত
an example
أَصْحَٰبَ
অধিবাসীদেরকে
(of the) companions
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
জনপদের
(of) the city
إِذْ
যখন
when
جَآءَهَا
সেখানে এসেছিলো
came to it
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
রাসূলগণ
the Messengers

|
|
|
إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ
|

|
|
যখন আমি তাদের কাছে দু’জন রাসূল পাঠিয়েছিলাম, তখন তারা তাদেরকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছিল। তারপর আমি তাদেরকে তৃতীয় একজনের মাধ্যমে শক্তিশালী করেছিলাম। অতঃপর তারা বলেছিল, ‘নিশ্চয় আমরা তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত রাসূল’।

|
When We sent to them two Messengers, they belied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: ”Verily! We have been sent to you as Messengers.”

|
إِذْ
যখন
When
أَرْسَلْنَآ
আমরা পাঠিয়েছিলাম
We sent
إِلَيْهِمُ
তাদের প্রতি
to them
ٱثْنَيْنِ
দু’জনকে
two (Messengers)
فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا
তখন উভয়কে তারা মিথ্যারোপ করলো
but they denied both of them
فَعَزَّزْنَا
আমরা শক্তিশালী করলাম তখন
so We strengthened them
بِثَالِثٍ
তৃতীয়জনকে দিয়ে
with a third
فَقَالُوٓا۟
তারা অতঃপর বললো
and they said
إِنَّآ
“নিশ্চয়ই আমরা
“Indeed We
إِلَيْكُم
তোমাদের প্রতি
to you
مُّرْسَلُونَ
প্রেরিত রাসূল”
(are) Messengers”

|
قَالُوا مَا أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنزَلَ الرَّحْمن مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ تَكْذِبُونَ
|

|
|
তারা বলল, ‘তোমরা তো আমাদের মতই মানুষ। আর পরম করুণাময় তো কিছুই নাযিল করেননি। তোমরা শুধু মিথ্যাই বলছ।
|
|
|
|
They (people of the town) said: You are only human beings like ourselves, and the Most Beneficent (Allâh) has revealed nothing, you are only telling lies.
|
|
|
|
قَالُوا۟
(লোকেরা) বললো
They said
مَآ
“না
“Not
أَنتُمْ
তোমরা
you
إِلَّا
এছাড়া
(are) but
بَشَرٌ
মানুষ
human beings
مِّثْلُنَا
আমাদেরই মতো
like us
وَمَآ
না এবং
and not
أَنزَلَ
অবতীর্ণ করেছেন
has revealed
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ
দয়াময়
the Most Gracious
مِن
কোনো
any
شَىْءٍ
কিছুই
thing
إِنْ
না
Not
أَنتُمْ
তোমরা
you
إِلَّا
এছাড়া
(are) but
تَكْذِبُونَ
মিথ্যা বলছো”
lying”
